I am pleased to announce that the paperback edition of The Goddess and the Bull will be published in the spring by Mitch Allen's new Left Coast Press. Mitch Allen is a legend in archaeological publishing: He founded AltaMira Press a decade ago and turned it into a powerhouse of social science publishing; as evidence, AltaMira books have won the Society for American Archaeology's book award for public understanding of archaeology the last three years in a row (most recently for Brian Fagan's Before California.)

Early this year, Mitch left AltaMira to found his new press, and already has an impressive list of titles--which now includes my own volume on the excavations at Catalhoyuk and the origins of civilization. The paperback will be available worldwide, and should be making its way into university course reading lists by the fall. Distribution will be handled by the University of Arizona Press in North America and by Berg Publishers in Oxford for the rest of the world.
